Join us for a unique and interactive concert experience where you’ll be transported into the heart of a Gypsy camp. Throughout the evening, you will become part of the story as singer and pianist Alexander Prokhorov-Tolstoy, a master of Russian and Gypsy romances, performs an exquisite selection of well-known and rare pieces, complete with his own piano improvisations. The songs will be sung in Russian, with introductions in English, making this a captivating experience for both Russian and English-speaking audiences.
About the Artist: Alexander Prokhorov-Tolstoy, a graduate of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory and the Boston Opera Institute, has graced stages such as Carnegie Hall, Boston Symphony Hall, and Moscow’s Philharmonic Halls. Renowned for his candlelit performances, he brings his deep knowledge and passion for Russian and Gypsy romances to life with every note. Alexander’s rich cultural heritage, connected to famous Russian literary and musical figures, infuses his performances with a profound sense of tradition and artistry.
