Join us at home for FRED ASTAIRE FRIDAYS

Fred Astaire (née Frederick Austerlitz; 1899 – 1987) was arguably the greatest triple threat (dance/song/choreography) film performer the world has ever known. On his own or with partners as talented as Ginger Rogers, Rita Hayworth, Cyd Charisse, and many others, Astaire brought an insouciance, wit, artistry, and joie de vivre to Hollywood which continues to burst off the screen nearly 100 years later.

Film musical fans around the world are invited to join Marc Strauss, Ph.D., and co-host Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater, in a special film series on this extraordinary film artist. Via Zoom meetings and spanning eight months, from September 4, 2020 to April 2, 2021 on 31 successive Friday evenings starting at 7 pm, Dr. Strauss will present contextualized Introductions, show the movies, and provide post-film discussions on all thirty-one Fred Astaire movie musicals from 1933 to 1968. The cost is $30/month or $200 for all 31 programs.
