PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Internships at WHAT are designed to provide professional training for undergraduate students or recent graduates with a passion for the theater and the performing arts. WHAT’s interns are an integral part of our summer team, and work alongside WHAT’s staff and artists in support of the creation of critically-acclaimed, thought-provoking theater. As an intern you will gain a comprehensive understanding of the day-to-day and long-term workings of a theater company, and assume responsibility for personal projects that are critical to company operations. All interns are provided with housing and receive a weekly stipend.
Working in collaboration with WHAT’s production staff and guest designers, production interns are involved in all areas of theatrical production including set construction and painting, electrics, wardrobe, stage management and sound, and serve as run-crew for our main stage productions.
Administrative interns work in collaboration with WHAT’s marketing, development, company management and box office staff providing day-to-day support of WHAT’s internal operations.
